troop letter: cold weather injuries
November 04, 2011
I’m responsible for the welfare of 15 soldiers who work for the defense of the base
My name is Sergeant First Class Jose. Currently, I’m deployed to Afghanistan and scheduled to return on or about October 2012. I’m responsible for the welfare of 15 soldiers who work for the defense of the base. They pull duties outside due to their sentinel duties at the main entrance. As a result, my soldiers barely get to enjoy the commodities offered during day light, and our PX products are very limited. As a leader, I find numerous ways to maintain them engaged into their duties, keeping them motivated and willing to defend our post if necessary as well. Winter is approaching and one of my main worries is to keep them away from cold weather injuries; therefore, I’m heavily seeking hand/toe warmers, thermos so we can bring soup and coffee to keep them warm and awake. AA , AAA batteries and head lamps would be useful for us too. Blankets can provide a little bit of comfort after our duties. Extra strength Hand lotion and facilitate a fast healing from this rough weather. Dental floss and baby wipes are also appreciated.
Thanks for supporting us
