troop letter: demolished by all 60 of the Marines

September 16, 2010

demolished by all 60 of the Marines

I was opening care packages with the excitement of a 8 year old child opening his first present on Christmas day.  It was glorious!

I wanted to take a quick minute of your time to thank you for coordinating through the Bob Williams Group which sent nearly a dozen package to me chalk full of all types of goodies from food, drink mixes, books, and my favorite, cigars!  Every package was demolished by all 60 of the Marines that I have here, myself included.  When I received the first package, I couldn’t believe it.  There was so much stuff inside of it, I didn’t even know what to say.  I wrote the “return address” in hopes that it would find the originator with a letter and a picture of the platoon.  Then, half of my guys and I left for two months and were not able to have our mailed forwarded to us while we were away.  It was like Christmas when I got back to my hooch.  I had received packages from friends and family and nearly half a dozen from the Bob Williams Group.  I was opening care packages with the excitement of a 8 year old child opening his first present on Christmas day.  It was glorious!

My Marines are doing outstanding and words cannot begin to describe how proud I am of them.  Each and every one of them exceeded my expectations.  They are in great spirits and are undoubtedly excited to return home to loved ones.  They deserve it.  We should all return stateside around the end of this month concluding over 11 months of being deployed in the past year.  These guys have been just outstanding.

I hope all is well back home and once again, thank you.  Your generosity, and that of the Bob Williams Group, far exceeds anything that I have experienced while deployed.  Thank you from all of the Marines of Fox 2/4 ‘Outlaw’.  I look forward to seeing you.
