Needs fitted sheets to fit twin size beds
Greetings All,
I just wanted to say Thank You for the tremendous support we get from you folks back home and the various organizations you represent or connect us with. We are never at a loss for Coffee, Hygiene items and just general over all “feel good” items that you send. They are a tremendous “morale” booster for all of us over here.
Anyway, more than once when I have put out the call for assistance you all have been there to answer it. The Marines very much appreciated your help in getting their “partners” the I.V. fluids and the refrigerator to keep them cool when they were in need. Well, its time again for me to put out the call for some help from your vast network of folks at home. Like I said we (meaning my unit) are good for awhile. Our “Role 3” (Navy speak for hospital) and CASF (Air Force speak for “holding facility") are in desperate need of some items. The Role 3 needs fitted sheets to fit twin size beds. When we (CCATT) transport their patients we take the sheet off the hospital bed with us. Logistically and for infection control reasons its nearly impossible for us to get these sheets back to them to be re-used. Unfortunately, business has been pretty good lately and we have nearly depleted their supply. They do not have to be NEW sheets, they just have to be clean. They can be any color, pattern...etc. They only need the fitted sheet, as they use paper disposable stuff for the rest of their covering needs.
Our CASF on the other hand needs clothing items. They get stuff from some of the other support organizations such as the “Wounded Warrior” project and “Soldiers Angels” but again business has been “Brisk” lately and they have depleted their supplies as well. They are in need of items such as stocking/watch caps, pajama or sweats type items for their patients to wear on the Air Evac flights to Germany. It is already cold there and getting colder everyday here. They need all sizes and types of these items. again, they don’t have to be NEW, just clean.
If any of you know of organizations willing to donate or have excess of these items any little bit helps. I know shipping costs can sometimes be ridiculous. and I am not sure how to get around that. We would be glad to take up a collection or something to cover the costs of shipping if need be. Thanks again ever so much for all the support you all provide for us out here. Its folks like y’all that make life out here just a bit easier to take. For that, there really is no way to say Thank you but Thank You none the less.
