troop letter: full of cookies and peanut butter crackers

February 21, 2010

the morale on base with everything we are doing here in the Fitness Center is going through the roof.

Hi Bob,

I got another package in yesterday, full of cookies and peanut butter crackers.  We are having a race today and will be giving out the dental stuff that came in several previous packages (pictures will be taken) and we are getting permission to take a lot of the stuff off base to a local orphanage where we will take pictures as well.  I will upload the pictures and send them to you each time.

I had a few request from folks that come into the Fitness Center and that work at the Post Office.  They asked me if you could send some:

1.  Bath and Body Works

2.  Body Spray

3.  Female Perfume products

4.  Soaps, Shampoo’s, and Conditioners

5.  Video’s

6.  Candy Items and Snacks

7.  More Beef Jerky products

8.  More big cigars (Turkish people and military guys like the small cigars, but I have a couple of Colonel’s and the General that have enjoyed to bigger cigars.) I have made friends ALL OVER THE BASE thanks to your cigars.  I even had people stop by the Fitness Center asking for a smoke fix (then I give them some more of the small cigars.) I just laugh at him and remind him that it’s not always what you know, but who you know.  My boss is a retired SMSgt that retired a year and a half ago (Super Great Guy.)

9.  Coffee and Coffee Creamers (all kinds)

10.  Playstation 3 w/games (even though you are sending Wii system to go with the 2 Wii Fit’s)

We have a drop down screen and projector installed here and my boss and I are going to hook the Wii up and have ourselves a competition to try it out on the big screen.  We are going to setup a couple of competitions here in the Fitness Center for people.  We are also going to have them setup where people can come in and check them out for use here in the Fitness Center to exercise with (set up with a TV on a cart.)

11.  I had 2 people even ask for laptop computers.  I laughed at them, but told them I would send the information to you.

I tell everyone any requests, I send forward to you no matter how strange or extreme they are.  I am not the person to say yes or no, I am only proud to be your voice here at Incirlik AB, Turkey.  With your help, the morale on base with everything we are doing here in the Fitness Center is going through the roof.

“Again, much thanks to you and your organization for blessing the lives of many soldiers,…
