troop letter: I got a huge package

Packages are always a highlight of the week and the one I got from you was no exception.
Dear Bob,
I got a huge package today that truly made my day. Packages are always a highlight of the week and the one I got from you was no exception. It was a surprise that I didn’t expect and then when I opened it… what joy. It was such fun to see all the goodies and know that my friends & I would be able to enjoy it. The girl scout cookies were pulled out for 2 specific friends who have been craving them and then I let friends I was hanging out with hang out with choose what they wanted.
The travel packages already set apart in plastic bags are being saved for when new people arrive and will truly be able to use the items set apart. We get new people frequently and these will be a perfect welcome item.
Anything not claimed by friends was given to the shift workers in the hospital who work the long 12 hour shifts and was a big surprise for the night workers when they were given the box and the day shift workers coming in the next day.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and touching the lives of so many soldiers. It’s nice to know there are people who support what we do.
