troop letter: inexpensive sandels
March 25, 2011
What we are in dire need of right now is sandels and/or crocks for our wounded soldiers
I am a soldier currently serving in Afghanistan. I joined the military relatively late in life at the ripe young age of 38. I am a medic serving with 4/10 mountain out of Fort Polk, LA. My current job has taken me to 94th BSB Charlie med patient hold where we take care of wounded and injured soldiers. I have become very passionate about my job and want the very best for our heroes that put themselves in harms way. We rely a lot on donated items in patient hold for our soldiers, they need some of the simple things that most of us take for granted. We get most of our blankets, toiletries, and misc. food items from soldier angels. What we are in dire need of right now is sandels and/or crocks for our wounded soldiers. Most of these brave men and women come to us with their cloths and shoes cut off so we can get them quickly to surgery, they come to us basically without shoes which is a problem. All i’m looking for is simple, inexpensive sandels or crocks, nothing fancy just a small necessity. Also, I have a wish list item or 2 one would be a small microwave for cooking them soups and popcorn and the other would be a wii or xbox for them to pass their time while they are with us, their recovery can be long, uncomfortable and boring. If any of this is in your power to get to us I’d greatly appreciate it, and I know our heroes would greatly appreciate it. If you can provide any of this to us I will send you my mailing address. Thank you for your time and consideration, god bless.
Sincerely,
Spc. Jason
