troop letter: Mortuary Affairs Division
April 21, 2010
team would have some entertainment in their downtime
Bob,
You had asked if we ever had a need to let you know. Honestly, I feel a little uncomfortable asking, but I visited our Mortuary Affairs Division yesterday to see how they were doing. You probably know that Mortuary Affairs retrieves all human remains from us here at the hospital following a death and takes them back to their area to prepare the body for the trip home. They certainly have an important job and I just can’t convey to you the pride and perfection they display concerning their job. I left there yesterday humbled, to say the least. As they toured me around there area, I could see the pride in how clean and organized everything was. Their break area consisted of a flat screen TV and the team made the comment that they were saving to buy a video game system and hoped they could do that before they redeploy so the next team would have some entertainment in their downtime.
Since you had already donated a Wii game system, you were the first person I thought of. If you happen to have a Wii, or Playstation, or X-Box game system available or find a store to donate, I know our Mortuary Affairs Soldiers would put it to good use. If it doesn’t work out, I completely understand. You are such a strong supporter of our organization and we really appreciate all you’ve done and continue to do.
I know you have it, but our address is:
