troop letter: nothing short of amazing

The deployment has been challenging
Charlie Co supporters,
Just wanted to say a final thank you for all you have done for our company over the past several months. We can’t thank you enough and are humbled by your overwhelming support. Although we can no longer receive mail, my guys are enjoying the many items, food and snacks that you have sent and it makes a difference.
Our unbelievable group of supporters include; moms and dads of Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen, college professors, teachers, home-makers, retired FBI agents, business owners, blue collar workers, former and retired military, nurses and doctors, Kiwanis Clubs, colleges and elementary schools, Marine Corps League chapters, Vietnam Veterans, Gulf War Veterans, boy scouts, girls scouts, churches, midshipmen, college students, radio stations, newspapers, professional sports teams and so much more.
What you do makes a difference and does not go unappreciated. It is a combat multiplier because that support is part of the foundation that makes the US military the world’s strongest defender of freedom. Years from now, these guys will look back on their time in the service and feel good about the support from their fellow citizens.
The deployment has been challenging, my company has suffered losses and injuries. Despite all that, we have made incredible progress in our battle space and literally run the Taliban out of town or put them six feet deep. When we got here, you couldn’t patrol out of the patrol base without some form of contact or drive any of the main roads without the possibility of striking an IED. Now, we have freedom of movement on the roads and in the villages. The progress made by our company has been nothing short of amazing. There were many people who predicted that we would not be able to hand over security to the Afghans until next year and we are doing that right now.
I included some random photos for you and again, on behalf of the Company Commander and I: THANK YOU!!!!!
Respecfully,
1stSgt Kenneth
