troop letter: over 11 months

departing Afghanistan
Bob,
I am in the process of departing Afghanistan after a little over 11 months. I should be home in about two weeks. I wanted to thank you and your folks for the great support you have provided our Sailors and others. You and your people and well known and appreciated throughout the country. I had the pleasure of a cigar downrange at FOB Appache in the smoking gazebo named in your honor.
My relief CAPT Steve has been assigned to another base to carry on the work. LT Tony is in my old office and anything you may want to send for our Sailors can be addressed to him at the same address I had.
