troop letter: STARBUCKS
August 16, 2011
Sir, this is REALLY good stuff
Bob,
Just got the packages today in the mail here at Regional Command Southwest. The support that you and your crew at “Support the Troops” is absolutely unbelievable. The Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, UK Soldiers and Royal Marines, Italian soldiers and Georgian and Danish soldiers here at the HQ truly sincerely appreciate all the effort and love from home in those boxes. I wish you could have been here as people were flocking to the boxes and marveling at the great items and of course STARBUCKS coffee. One of the Marines “Sir, this is REALLY good stuff…we’re going to have to water it down because the Marines will go crazy from the caffeine after the [expletive] coffee we’ve been drinking.” Don’t worry, I won’t let them water it down.
Each package that comes in, I do my absolute best to make sure that I get it distributed around to folks at Leatherneck and we also send stuff with the CG when he travels out to visit with the more remote units. Where ever I get the stuff to, you can be assured that everyone is well-deserving and working hard to keep the faith with you and our supporters and accomplish our difficult missions. It’s amazing how people perk up and become instantly happier when they get a surprise like that in the mail. I tell everyone that gets something to write a thank you note, but just in case they don’t get around to it, please undesrstand and please allow me to accept on behalf of everyone and send their heartfelt thanks.
I sent you a small token of my appreciation in the mail, so be on the lookout… it is tiny compared to the support you have provided our, but it is heartfelt and meaningful.
Thank you again so much for everything you and your partners do!
PS: My father-in-law lives in Okala, so when I come home next year, I’ll try and see if I can get out to Wesley Chapel to bring my thanks in person.
Semper Fidelis,
LtCol Neil
