troop letter: Thank you

October 15, 2009

appreciate the support

Bob

You must be Nostradamus because the other box arrived today!  We were
running incredibly short on the snack side of the house so it couldn’t
have come at a better time.  Additionally, the Tampa papers were the
biggest hit of all because one of the Sailors inprocessing is actually
from Tampa.  You put a smile on her face that was side to side and never
ending.  Thank you for that!!

As for our needs, all the snacks that you are sending are great.  The
Girl Scout cookies and the chips tend to be here only for a short period
of time.  We definitely don’t need coffee for sometime, and could
probably skip a round of Phillies as well.  But then again, there is a
Cigar hut here that’s one of the most popular spots on post.

Other options would be personal items for the junior guys such as
deodorant, toothpaste, shave gel, etc.  The officers and senior enlisted
don’t need that stuff, but the junior guys have a whole lot less money
than us and it always gets scooped up.  It’s getting cold over here in
the evenings, so if you have chocolate laying around and it would last
the trip, I think it would go over huge.  They were in the office again
hoping there was some candy bars in the last box:)

I know that you probably get tired of hearing it, but we truly
appreciate the support.  It’s like Christmas whenever the package
arrive!  Speaking of which, holiday decorations would go over as well
now that I think of it.

Take care and if I could, I’d take you to the DFAC for all the fake beer
you could handle!  I’ve also attached a couple of photos from one of our
most recent Fallen Warrior Ceremonies.  It’s a somber affair, but the
pics are of high quality and reminds me why I do what I do.
