troop letter: thank you for all that do
June 24, 2010
The books have been a great hit.
Bob, good to hear from you. I just got back to Camp a couple of days
ago. Spent a little time WAY up north with one of my units. Good to be
back here and sleeping in an actual building again. Tents in 130+
degree heat are just not comfortable.
Anyway, my guys said that you have been keeping them quite busy with the
hundreds and hundreds of pounds of goodies. You have my continuing
thanks for all you are doing to keep morale up here.
I look forward to the boxes with the Camelbaks and will send photos. I
have to get the photos I took of the Pete’s coffee and send them to you
as well (it’s hard to get the photos onto the Army computer system).
Not sure if it was you but I’ll ask anyway. Someone sent us a couple of
Wii’s and Wii Fits when we first got here (before I was processing
everything). The Wii Fit we have here at camp (the other is out on the
oil platform) has broken (over-use probably - it’s very popular).
Again, not sure if it was you that sent it, but a replacement would be
great if that’s possible. We are trying to get the Army to replace it,
but that’s a long process.
The books have been a great hit. New books are always welcomed as the
“library” here has a good collection, but they are very old, well-read
books. One thing that has been asked...you sent the #2 and #3 books in
a series. I have requests for the first book in the series - it’s
“Night Birds’ Reign” by Holly Taylor.
Again, thank you for all that do for us and all of our service men and
women serving over here. YOU are truly appreciated.
Lastly, are there any “worker-bees” that I can send command photos to
(through you)? Or any special individuals for my coin? Anything else I
may be able to do to thank you?
Be well,
Always-
Don
