As we begin the preparations to return to the US
Jack,
As we begin the preparations to return to the US in the next couple months, they have asked that we notify our friends and family to stop sending mail and packages to 2d Maint BN personnel as of 1 August. This will allow plenty of time for any mail in the shipping cycle to arrive here before our departure, and will eliminate the headache of mail arriving here for people who have already returned. As you know, postal regulations will not permit anyone else from receiving someone’s mail, so undeliverable packages will likely be returned.
Thank you so much for the unending support that you and your associates have shown us throughout this deployment. You have made a tremendous impact on our morale and quality of life. You can never be repaid for your patriotism and support.
