troop letter: two care packages

two care packages

I have to say they were packed with some of the most needed items we covet here in a remote location...especially the personal hygiene items. 

Mr. Williams,

I hope you receive this email.  Yesterday, my unit was able to pick up our mail at the main Bagram base.  We are currently stationed in the Panjshir Valley, Afghanistan and the unit conducts mail runs about every three weeks.  Thus, I was pleasantly surprised to receive your two care packages.  I am not sure how you received our mailing address but I am, as well as everyone else within the unit is, exceedingly appreciative of the thoughtful gifts.  I have to say they were packed with some of the most needed items we covet here in a remote location...especially the personal hygiene items.  I will have our Supply Sergeant distribute the items out over the next few days to ensure everyone has a chance to get their choice of contents.

Everyone really does enjoy and truly appreciate the kindness of the folks back home who take their time and money to help us out over here.
It is very reassuring to know by your and their actions that we will always be welcomed back upon our return and our fellow citizens appreciate the sacrifices of the deployed military members.
