troop letter: We could always use more cigars
September 01, 2010
Thank you very much. We’ll be
visiting a school next.
Bob,
You may remember my email to one of our Chaplains a couple of weeks ago
concerning the donations I received from you. Just a couple of days
later we took the donations to a local orphanage that has boys and girls
of all ages. They have on-site instructors who were very appreciative of
the learning aids, especially the solar systems and the Radius systems.
These children will eventually learn English and the donated items will
go a long way in helping them. We also took a lot of the hygiene items
you’ve sent.
I’ve attached a few photos for you. Thank you very much. We’ll be
visiting a school next. The schools can’t really use things like what we
took to the orphanage. They can use pens and note pads.
We’re doing well here. We could always use more cigars. I’ve received
two humidors from you. Thank you very much. I have one here in my office
and the other one is at the main TV and radio station in Bagram.
I received our AFN Afghanistan coins today and will be sending you one
right away.
Sincerely,
Jim
