troop letter: you should have seen their faces light up

May 28, 2010

you should have seen their faces light up

We offered them a game of basketball and you should have seen their faces light up.

Bob,

I just want to say thank on behalf of our Airmen serving in Iraq.  We received a box from you last week and I want you to know that you make a difference.  We are a 10 man team of Air Force Advisors currently working under the US Army in Iraq.  We work closely with an Iraq Base Commander and all his logistics commanders within the base.

Your box of goodies went to good use for the team but I must say the best gift was when we went to the Iraqi MP Commander with a basketball.  We noticed they had a basketball net outside but we never seen them play.  We offered them a game of basketball and you should have seen their faces light up.  Something as small as a basketball game helped us increase our relationship with our counterparts which goes a long way here.  Our Services rep, TSgt Jason was the one who contacted you on your website but I wanted to personally say thank you for taking the time to do what you do.  Sometimes it’s hard over here to get certain items.  Our Airmen and Soldiers constantly face dangerous situations but knowing we have people like you on the home front makes things a bit easier.

Again, thank you for your support from the Airmen at Camp Taji in Iraq.  We can send a few pictures if you’d like

v/r

Maj Scott
